This publication is meant
to cultivate community and provide people with opportunity. Our goal is to
share ideas and ways to provide basic needs to people sustainably by
optimizing localities and providing grass root connections between communities
that profit all species.
Who says we cannot have flourishing communities whilst
preserving and promoting healthy ecosystems!
In the beginning it always starts with a dream. My dream
started with the sea. Like many I found magic and mystery along the edge of the
earth. As a little girl I would gaze at the glassy surface wondering what could
lie beneath. I did not think there was anything more beautiful than the
vastness of the ocean. My world seemed
so small. Out there the possibilities seemed endless. My dream is not much
different from yours, and what I have had on my mind for quite some time is,
that to protect what we love we must switch our focus. I have been thinking
this more now especially since it is election time again.
I do not remember the day nor my age when I became aware of
the atrocities of our current civilization, but I do know that to protect the
ocean, the forest and human ecosystems we must switch our focus to building
local sustainable communities with strong local markets and healthy local food
systems. If we first improve quality of life on a community level then we can
move onto re-building our national and international markets.
Money will never trickle down so we must move the ground up!
